The St. Thomas Friars (6-0) claimed the 2009 VYFL 8^th Grade Division championship with a win over the previously unbeaten Fenton St. John Jets (5-1) in the championship game played at St. Stephen Field on Saturday, August 17. The 8^th Grade South and North Division teams split the four placement games between the two divisions played the final week of the 2009 VYFL season. The St. Thomas 6^th grade team (6-0) also finished unbeaten in their division with another win in the final weekend of the 2009 season.
